Community Involvement

Being a part of our community is important to us which is why we try our best to support and advocate for causes and activities that we believe in.

We choose to volunteer for organizations such as the Rotary Club’s annual Operation Red Nose (a program that provides free designated drivers during the holiday season) and the Lions Gate Hospital Foundation. We also fundraise for causes such as the Relay for Life, an event that helps fund research, prevention initiatives and support for people living with cancer – a cause near to our hearts after Christina’s battle with cancer in 2011.

When my husband and I first decided to look for a home in North Vancouver we set up appointments with a couple of different agents. I first spoke with Toby when I called him about a listing that they had. He was incredibly helpful over the phone and so my husband and I decided to add them to our list of potential agents. Toby and Christina came to our house, they worked around our schedule (kids with naps) and they were incredibly knowledgeable (they even had a flow chart outlining what we could expect if we worked with them as we looked for our home.) They understood the market, they know the neighbourhood like the back of their hands and they know houses!

My husband and I decided to go with the Edgars because we felt that we would be in capable hands. We were not disappointed. They continued to wow us with all the work they did to find us the perfect home. They were always really easy to reach, I almost felt like we were their only clients! They kept an eye out for homes that they knew we would like and had a great understanding of why some homes might not be a good fit and worth skipping (eg steep grade in a potential mud slide location) They got to know what was important to us and were able to really help us hone in and find the perfect home. They have an incredibly wide base of knowledge and great relationships with other service providers. We always felt like our needs were being met. We used their mortgage broker and their home inspector and could not be happier with the work that both of them have done for us.

When we finally decided to put an offer on a house, they made it as seamless and stress free as possible. They helped us make the strongest bid possible (not simply by increasing the amount of money we were willing to offer, but but also looking at other aspects of our offer that might make a difference to the sellers.) Even after our offer was accepted and their work was done, the Edgars continue to help us (eg they contacted the city and got us the paperwork required to apply for a permit for some renovations.) I plan on contacting them for referrals for various services and I know that I can trust who they recommend.

I recommend the Edgars wholeheartedly. They made this process fun and enjoyable and easy. Even my kids give their mark of approval!
